HIKE & PICNIC WITH HOLY COMFORTER CHURCH
The weather was absolutely perfect for a gentle through the woods and a picnic by the lake! On Tuesday, June 11, 12 members of St. Catherine’s met four buses of guests from Holy Comforter for a delightful afternoon at Red Top Mountain State Park.
Harriett Pyburn and Linda Shrake organized a briefing by the park’s naturalist to make us aware of the history and features of the park. The hike wound through the woods and along a creek. Everyone had hopes of seeing a newborn fawn but none were spotted.
After the short hike, we moved to a pavilion with a gorgeous view of the lake. We watched ducks float peacefully as we enjoyed our sandwiches. It truly was a great day in the park with our new friends from Holy Comforter!
