Seniors on the go - In the summer

Updated: May 6

Upcoming for June and July:

Wednesday, June 5 (10:30 Entry) Balloon Museum:  Several of us are going to the Balloon Museum in Pullman Yards – 225 Rogers St NE, Atlanta, to experience balloons in a unique and beautiful way.  Eleanore shared pictures of her visit there with her family and it looked like a real one-of-a-kind display, some interactive!  If you would like to join us, go to https://balloonmuseum.world/ website and register for June 5, 10:30am, or choose a date you can go. Tickets are $39 for adults (lower prices for children and families). Accessible to wheel chairs if you bring your own.

June Date TBD:  Smith-Gilbert Gardens

2382 Pine Mountain Rd

Kennesaw, GA 30152

Features Bonsai trees, Art Blooms, Sculpture garden and A Garden with Wings Butterfly House in June & July.  (Closed Mondays) Admission is $8/seniors. Sally Powers is volunteer there and will guide us through the butterfly house.

July Date TBD:  Lunch and Learn. Possible Sheriff/Police presentation on safety issues for seniors in particular (phone calls, texts, fake emails, people at your door, etc.). If anyone has a specific contact locally please let me know.

Wednesday, July 24  Horizon of Khufu: Journey in Ancient Egypt, 45 minute Exploration of the Giza Plateau and the Great Pyramid of Giza as if you were really there!  550 Somerset Terrace, Atlanta. See https://horizonkheopsexperience.com/atlanta/#location.  Seniors, $21.  Entry times are needed and earliest that day is currently 11:20am so if you’d like to go together let me know and we’ll try and have everyone register at the same time.  Adapted to those with reduced mobility.

RSVPs are definitely needed for Atlanta Balloon and Khufu events since time slots close when full.  Lindamscott1949@gmail.com.

Check your calendars and we hope you can join us for as many of these as possible!
