Dr. Chris Walters

Dr. Chris

The Friends of Music at St. Catherine’s present the annual Concert Series, free and open-to-the-public
concerts featuring nationally and internationally recognized performers. The programs are presented in
St. Catherine’s sanctuary which is highly regarded for its acoustics and design. A favorite component of
the Concert Series is introductory and anecdotal comments by the artists on their selected works.
Following each performance is a reception with opportunity for audience members to meet the artists.
Many events are also viewable as live-streamed on the church’s Facebook page.
The “Friends of Music” are the generous contributors who make our distinguished Concert Series
possible. Donations in any amount are welcome.

Coro Vocati

“Dirt Roads and Footpaths”

Some roads are simple stretches of earth; some paths have been walked for centuries. “Dirt Roads and Footpaths” will take inspiration from both. The music of this concert will mirror these travels of the heart and mind. John Corigliano’s setting of Dylan Thomas’ “Fern Hill” captures the fleeting wonder of youth and memory, while other works illuminate the landscapes, challenges, and joys of the human journey. Coro Vocati has established itself as one of the premier professional choral ensembles in the southeast, featuring some of the region’s most talented vocalists in polished performances celebrating unique and intriguing programming.
