Bee Boxes - Tess Sauve
"Hi. My name is Tess Sauve, I am a rising senior at Wheeler High School and an active member in the youth program here at Saint Catherine's. I have been a Girl Scout with Troop 16133 since kindergarten and am currently in the last stages of my Gold Award. A Gold Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout can achieve. It is a solo project in which you pick your topic, goal, fundraise, and present your project in hopes that you will earn the award. The goal of my Gold Award was to

Promise #6 Our baptismal vows are foundational to our life as disciples of Jesus Christ. A final reminder of those promises, at least for a week or two. We can’t talk about discipleship without talking about our baptismal vows. Baptismal promise #1 was faithfulness in worship, study of scripture and in prayers. Promise # 2 was perseverance in resisting evil and when we miss the mark we repent, ask God to help us, and try again. Promise #3 was a call to proclaim by word an

Promise # 5 Our baptismal vows are foundational to our life as disciples of Jesus Christ. My last reminder of those promises. Baptismal promise #1 was faithfulness in worship, study of scripture and in prayers. Promise # 2 was perseverance in resisting evil and when we miss the mark we repent, ask God to help us, and try again. Promise #3 was a call to proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ. Our 4th baptismal promise, called us to service. And our

A message from the Interim Rector 6/24
Promise # 4 - 6/24/2026 Our baptismal vows are foundational to our life as disciples of Jesus Christ and they are reminders of God’s call to see beyond ourselves and serve in the world. So, I think you know the theme we have for these reflections in June. Remember baptismal promise #1 was faithfulness in worship, study of scripture and in prayers. Promise # 2 was perseverance in resisting evil and when we miss the mark we repent, ask God to help us, and try again. Promise

A message from your Vestry Warden
“Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place.” We sang this song a few weeks ago - and it is surely something we know to be true. St. Catherine’s is a very special place: a place that draws us closer to God, forms us, connects us, and offers steadiness in an often‑unsettled world. In recent months, we have been living in a season of transition. Mother Sarah was called into new ministry as a bishop, and we give thanks for her faithful leadership and the ways her ministry

HOLY WEEK IS HERE
On Monday, I hope you read (John 12:1- 11) about Jesus going to visit Mary, Martha and Lazarus in their home in Bethany. We believe Jesus left Jerusalem Sunday evening after visiting the temple and stayed as a guest in Bethany. Mary anoints Jesus’ feet and much conversation happened because of what she did. If Mary had anointed Jesus’ head it would have been a prophetic sign of his kingship, but Mary felt called by God to anoint his feet. Jesus tells those who voice an object

What does your heart yearn for...
I was at a continuing education event for the clergy just a few months ago and the presenter asked us this question, “what does your heart cry or yearn for?” What does your heart yearn for? That question stayed with me as I made notes that day and I have looked back at my answers as crazy as they might be. So ask yourself, “What does your heart yearn for?” A few of my notes said this. My heart yearns for God’s kingdom to grow in faith and love, so I pray for the faithful

A message from the Vestry:
As we move into this next chapter, please know that your Vestry is walking thoughtfully, faithfully and prayerfully through every step and we’ll provide updates when they’re available. Until then, we ask our St. Catherine's family to remain in prayer and to continue serving and worshipping together, just as we always have. We know it’s natural to want clarity, updates, or something concrete to hold onto during a season like this. Our encouragement is this: stay hopeful, stay

Book Club
“ P.S. Burn This Letter Please ” by Craig Olsen Their greatest act of resistance was simply existing. Drags, fags and trans-women were attracted to the Big Apple because they were able to find work as impersonators in a small number of Lower East Side clubs. Decades before Stonewall, they occupied the margins of society, determined to live as they pleased, despite of the attentions of the police. Sometimes reduced to stealing to get their costumes, these girls were unstoppabl

Feed my Sheep
“Simon son of John, do you love me?” And he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep.” Thirteen percent of Georgians receive SNAP, a food assistance program from the government. Currently some or all of that assistance is unavailable. In response to this crisis, St Catherine’s will be collecting grocery gift cards to Kroger, Walmart and Aldi. Our grocery gift card offerings will be distributed three places: Wheele
