Regathering at St. Catherine's

PROTOCOLS FOR MEETING ON ST.CATHERINE’S GROUNDS

Revised Oct. 7 (groups of 50/75 mins)

YOUR ROLE 

Mother Sarah, Mother Rebecca, the Vestry and the St. Catherine’s congregation are relying on you and your group to follow the safety protocols that have been stipulated by the Diocese. You will be an example for other small groups, and a model for how we function as a parish moving forward in these uncertain and difficult times. As we all know, these circumstances are fluid and protocols may change at any time.

HEALTH & SAFETY 

  • All small group participants are required to wear appropriate masks properly (over nose and mouth) for the entire meeting time. 

  • All participants must remain at least six feet from one another. 

  • All participants must refrain from physically touching each other or using shared items.

  • Health questions will be sent to attendees by email with a confirmation of their registration. Anyone feeling ill while on campus should immediately go to their car to avoid the risk of spreading the illness.

SIZE 

  • Currently, small groups can have no more than 50 participants in person, including clergy or group leaders.

  • Only one small group can meet at the church at a time, even if separated on the property.

  • Zoom should continue to be used to include those who cannot attend in person. Church-owned iPads with access to our WIFI will be available to facilitate this.

SCHEDULING

  • Rachel Hutton, Executive Assistant, is the keeper of the schedule. She can let group conveners know what days/times are available and guide you on using the registration process for your group.

  • No group may meet more than once a week.

CONTACT TRACING

  • All participants at each meeting must be registered using the registration app to facilitate Contact Tracing, if necessary.

  • The group convener will use the tool to confirm attendees during the meeting.

TIME LIMIT

Per Diocesan guidelines, small groups may meet for a maximum of 75 minutes on the church grounds.

SETUP 

  • Participants must bring their own chairs.

  • Participants must bring their own books or other materials.

  • No sharing food or drinks.  No alcohol.

 

LOCATIONS

The church building is still closed. Small groups must meet outside on the pavers, along the front of the building and/or in the parking lots.

Note: The guidelines from the Diocese prohibit parish groups from meeting at alternative locations such as restaurants or homes. 

 

FACILITIES

There are no bathrooms available. The building will be locked; please do not enter.

ADHERING TO PROTOCOLS

We expect everyone to follow these protocols. If they are not, your small group will not be given permission to meet on St, Catherine’s campus again. While Mothers Sarah or Rebecca may be in their offices at the time of your meeting, they should not be policing these policies – it is our responsibility to each other. 

 

OPTIONS FOR MANAGING # OF ATTENDEES

  • Set up random small groups, and schedule them to meet on different days or at different blocks of time.

  • Organize your group into sub-sections, each with a leader, and set their own schedules to meet (rather than the ministry convener trying to organize everyone).

  • Rotate through group members alphabetically at each meeting (if groups exceed the maximum of 10).
